چرا برای فارسی‌زبان‌ها سخت است؟
فارسی برای مرد و زن یک ضمیر دارد: «او». در انگلیسی برای مرد he، برای زن she و برای اشیا و حیوانات (معمولاً) it می‌گوییم — و این تفاوت در his/her هم هست.
قاعده
he/him/his برای مرد یا پسر، she/her/her برای زن یا دختر، it/it/its برای چیز یا حیوان. his و her به صاحبِ چیز بستگی دارند، نه به خودِ چیز: Ali loves his car.
he = a man or boy, she = a woman or girl, it = a thing or animal. Object forms: him, her, it. Possessives: his, her, its – they follow the owner, not the thing.
